Rebel.

This outfit all started with a trip to collective ensemble, a vintage clothing store in Newtown. Whilst browsing I noticed this vintage red cotton jacket, immediately I tried it on and loved it, I had always wanted to by a McGregor anti-freeze jacket like the one James dean wore in "Rebel without a cause"and this was a very close match.

A few weeks later I did this photo shoot for Lookbook with a James Dean inspired outfit.

For as long as I can remember I've had a lot of interest in James Dean, he is one of a few icons I have drawn a lot of inspiration from particularly in fashion and the art of acting.
Deans fashion sense has always been highly respected, just as much in the mid 20th century as it is in contemporary fashion ideals today. Although James Deans acting career sadly ended just as it was beginning he left a lasting and important impact on the art of acting, the advances he made on method acting particularly are astonishing and are of a calibre not often seen even today and as an amateur actor  I feel there is a lot to learn from him both on and off screen.

This outfit was a lot of fun to put together and shoot, and it was great to get a feel and try to understand one of the most iconic and inspiring charters ever portrayed, Jim Stark.

Enjoy!

No Calls, No Shouts at Sea

These shots where taken by a good friend of mine down the coast, next to the sea. We decided to stop by the light house for a while after looking at a 66 mustang that was for sale in the near by town witch we had decided was not worth the asking price. Although it had been a long trip for no outcome these photos made the trip much more interesting.

The scenery of the ocean combined with the setting sun and the mid 20th century light house made for an excellent backdrop. We also caught a glimpse of a very smooth vintage holden, a Scottish wedding shot involving a horse drawn cart and a sword wielding groom, along with the general goings on of the dock and fishermen.

Proof the bad luck and always turn for the better and any moment.
